Laurent Jalabert

Tour de France 2002

At the 2002 Tour de France, Richard Virenque won the Mont-Ventoux stage from Lodève. But it was Laurent Jalabert, thanks to some great breakaways in the Pyrenees, who brought the best climber's jersey back to Paris. This combination worn with the polka-dot jersey features prominently in the collection of Louis Nicollin, who was very fond of the rider.
