The 1985 Tour de France started in Brittany. A nod from the organizers to Bernard Hinault, who was in search of a fifth success. “Le blaireau” (the badger) fulfilled all expectations, winning the prologue and the Strasbourg stage. This combination from the Louis Nicollin collection is the one used in the stopwatch race at Villard-de-Lans. Bernard Hinault finished 2nd behind the Belgian Éric Vanderaerden.
